Broughton Hall

Experience the seasons at Broughton Hall. The garden was started in 1996 and like all country gardens it has taken many years to develop to it's present stage. With a backdrop of the Tarago Reservoir, a terraced garden of 4 acres cascades down the slope towards the water with an amazing variety of plants which fill the banks with dramatic foliage including the formal rose beds. And while you're here there's plenty to interest you in our rare plant nursery.

The Garden at Broughton Hall

With a backdrop of the Tarago Reservoir, a terraced garden of 4 acres cascades down the slope towards the water. There is a central wide pathway punctuated by many steps leading down through the garden, but each level can be accessed without using this pathway and the many steps. Heavily planted with an amazing variety of plants which fill the banks with dramatic foliage, the formal rose beds with mass plantings of well over 1000 roses and the many areas to be discovered within the garden as the visitor wanders make this garden a delight to visit at any time of the year. Opening times are set each year to give the visitor a chance to see the garden at its best.  More Info »

Visitor Comments

Visited the garden recently. Absolutely beautiful, the roses were lovely. Everything was so well set out on the terraces. Ample seating to take advantage of the trees and flowers. The view to the reservoir was amazing.

My dearest wish is that I could visit this time round, but alas Uncle Dan has reinforced once again, stay within 5kms from home....and regretfully half of our border is out into the bay....one day I'll get there. Love seeing photos of the garden at any time...Lorraine
